My evil vision of that: A Witch with Cat, black ink drawing.

I used AKVIS Sketch Plug-In (with AKVIS Black Pen preset), then Fresco and Cutout Filters in Photoshop.
The result seems to be a very impressive and powerful.

New drawings for the Contest:

Chuck Greco - "used Akvis Sketch 13, Dynamic Auto Painter and Adobe Photoshop".

David Babcock - "used the stand alone product to create the sketch – brought the file into Photoshop – over laid the original with the sketch – brought the eyes from the original through just a touch.  Smudged the hair just a little."

Ron Lashley - " Created using Photoshop CC with Sketch plugin.  B&W done using Topaz Simplify, duplicated then Sketch applied.  Photoshop was just a host program."

I like to mix and match a variety of tools with layers. So (most of) what was done here:

+ Photoshop CS 6 [base platform]
------- duplicate active layer for each step here, apply next effect/tool to copy -------
+ Google/Tiffen DFX 3 (sharpen, darken a bit)
+ OnOne Perfect Portrait (lightened whites of eyes, enriched lip color)
+ Alienware Exposure 5 (boosted color, added vignette, film grain, slight blur)
+ Google/Tiffen Viveza (microscopically darken overexposed areas on arms, right hand)
+ OnOne Perfect Effects (darken highlights, lighten midtones)
+ Photoshop - select eyes, color replace brown with green, use Image/Adjustment/Curves to lower apparent exposure. How can a red-haired lassie NOT have green eyes?

< Flatten all to create the "final base image," duplicate this layer, work on the duplicate >

------- composite final image as follows -------
+ Akvis Airbrush (color mode, add 'swirl' that particularly affects lines). 100% opacity (the actual/final base layer)
+ Akvis Sketch (color mode, enhance lines) - applied to layer copy of Airbrush, faded to 65% opacity
+ Akvis Sketch (black & white mode, enhance texture), applied to layer copy of Airbrush, faded to 27% opacity
+ OnOne Perfect Mask on the Base Image for final composite to knock out the eyes & let the green come through at a much higher level, 41% opacity

Final result: Sketch for multiple textures, Airbrush for "swirl," other tools for color & light adjustment.

I work on new layers each time... often copies of the latest one, though I also will duplicate a layer twice, apply different effects, then change opacity on the top one before merging the two layers with a combined effect.

-------
p.s. love cats  :) - we have five & write children's books about them using modified photos that include Akvis tools in the workflow.
